Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West
True West Magazine, has continuously named Western Spirit, one of the Nation’s “Best Western Museums”. Western Spirit brings the West’s history and heritage to life – through art and artifacts of Western and Native American heritage as well as informative events and programming. There are a number of permanent exhibits and a series of rotating shows – many from our own collections.
Recently we hosted the first annual Western Spirit Award Fundraiser featuring Kevin Costner. Costner remarked on social media after his departure: “Western history lovers need Western Spirit on their bucket list,” and “There’s some real cowboys out here, I just play one.”
Old West. New West. True West.
The Smithsonian Affiliate is located in downtown Scottsdale’s arts district, the museum is within easy walking distance of numerous art galleries restaurants, and Old Town Scottsdale.
