The Scottsdale Gallery Association is a nonprofit, a 501(C) (6) group of gallery owners formed to promote the fine art galleries in the Scottsdale Art District. Internationally known as a mecca for art collectors, Scottsdale is home to more than 100 galleries, dedicated to exhibiting the finest visual art from around the world as well as outstanding local Arizona art. The galleries offer a diverse array of work in a wide variety of mediums. SGA members strive to make art accessible to all, from the serious art collector to the casual art patron. Scottsdale’s Art District runs along Gallery Row on Main Street from Scottsdale Road to Goldwater Boulevard and north on Marshall Way, across Indian School Road to the Horse Fountain on 5th Avenue. Scottsdale Gallery Association (SGA), in partnership with the City of Scottsdale, presents the Scottsdale Art District Art Walk each Thursday evening and the special event Gold Palette Art Walks numerous times throughout the tourism season.
The Scottsdale ArtWalk and Gold Palette Artwalks
Scottsdale’s ArtWalk events began in 1975 and are celebrated throughout the downtown Scottsdale Art District every Thursday, except Thanksgiving, and is always free! Galleries open their doors to collector and casual patrons alike to enjoy featured artists, a cultural environment and refreshments.
Scottsdale’s ArtWalk offers the opportunity to stroll at your own pace, wander into galleries through a festive area enjoying dramatic statues, bubbling fountains, tree-covered courtyards, famed restaurants and live music. Horse-drawn carriage rides, golf carts and trolley rides are available from plentiful free parking areas nearby. Look for valet parking service, available on Main Street for the special Gold Palette event ArtWalks.
The ArtWalks occur every Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. (except Thanksgiving Day). Special Gold Palette ArtWalks are presented during our cool weather months from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and feature special themed events with performances and activities. See our Events page for details.
