Colores by Wilde Meyer features an adventuresome and eclectic collection

An artists' reception will be held on Thursday, July 10th during the
Summer Spectacular ArtWalk from 7 to 9 pm.
Duley-Jones Gallery will celebrate its seventh anniversary with an exhibit
of new work by gallery artists.
Duley-Jones Gallery features a dazzling array of contemporary artwork
in a variety of media by regional and national artists. The eclectic
selection
includes Southwest landscapes by Merrill Mahaffey and David Gordinier,
the exquisite ceramics of George Alexander, large watercolors by
David Barba, and Robert Brubaker's whimsical figures. Paintings by Jean
Richardson, Brian Blackham, Walt Wooten, Pat Bailey, Rhea Gary, George
Green, Dick Phillips, Marc Hatfield, Jeanne Mahaffey, Irene Klar, Johnathan
Harris, Kirk Tatom and Walker Moore are featured. An emphasis on art
glass
includes work by John Miller and Leon Applebaum, and glass tapestries
by Carole Perry. A variety of sculptures by David Caricato and Eric
Boyer are
exhibited as well as baskets by Neil and Fran Prince, pottery by Paul
Slaton and Michael Wisner, and original illustrations and books by Sylvia
Long.
Merrill Mahaffey: Interior Landscapes of the West, a Fifty-Year Retrospective
at the Museum of Northern Arizona
June 22 - November 9, 2008
Merrill Mahaffey has spent his life and career as an artist of western
landscapes, with the Grand Canyon becoming a great influence on his
work. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he grew up in Grand Junction,
Colorado. By the age of eight, he had already begun what would turn
into a lifelong passion for art and the monumental landscapes of the
West. Attending California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland and
Sacramento State University, he continued his education at Arizona State
University, receiving an MFA in 1965. He has taught at Phoenix College
and Arizona State University.

Trailside Galleries is pleased to present its annual Fall Open House
from 1-4pm on Saturday, October 18th, featuring an exhibition and sale
of all new works by some of the country’s most distinguished western
artists, including members of the Cowboy Artists of America. A retrospect
on Joe Beeler, a One Man Show of new paintings by Z.S. Liang, and a
Bill Anton Showcase will also be hanging during the Fall Open House.
Set to coincide with the Cowboy Artists of America (CAA) Show at the
Phoenix Art Museum, the gallery will be focusing on new works by its
roster of CAA artists including Herb Mignery, Bill Nebeker, Jim Norton,
Gordon Snidow, Wayne Baize, Fred Fellows, Gary Niblett, Don Crowley,
Dave Powell, and Clark Kelley Price. The gallery, long known for its
superb collection of western art, will also feature new works by such
noted western painters and sculptors as Curt Walters, Richard D. Thomas,
Stan Davis, Cynthia Rigden, Veryl Goodnight, Deborah Fellows, George
Hallmark, Scott Rogers, Paul Mann, David Yorke , and Nicholas Coleman.
As part of its Fall Open House festivities the gallery is honored to
host a retrospective exhibition and sale of works by founding member
of the CAA, the late Joe Beeler. The body of work, created over a span
of almost five decades, consists of paintings, drawings and sculpture
that Beeler kept for his own personal collection. The multiple winning
award artist and Arizona History Maker passed away in April of 2006.
